Manager - Cadence Business Team

Summary

Position Summary: 
The Cadence Business Team manager is responsible for supporting and executing on the broader ambulatory access strategy. This role leverages the Cadence Application system to ensure the proper infrastructure is in place to support the needs of the organization. This position has direct operational and administrative responsibility for the Cadence Business Team and Embedded Analysts.


High Level Overview: 

  • Working in partnership with operational and department leadership, this position leads the effort to reengineer ease of access through template redesign, implementation of Epic functionality, and other improvement opportunities.
  • Supports, engages, inspires, and cultivates team members to maintain a strong culture of mutual respect, inclusion, diversity, and equity within and across the team. 
  • Accountable for the results and performance of the Cadence Business Team, promotes teamwork to achieve organizational goals and objectives for access.

Responsibilities*

  • Oversees the daily operations of the Cadence Business Team including organization, tracking/reporting on performance metrics, managing work assignments and identifying and resolving issues.
  • Manages improvement projects and analyzes requirements to execute those projects successfully. 
  • Defines and documents processes, identifies opportunities and implements best practices for greater efficiency across the team. 
  • Identifies opportunities for continuing education and provides coaching and training to the team. 
  • Provides team feedback on a regular basis. 
  • Provides oversight to the team to ensure implementation of best practices in addition to implementing new policies and keeping employees aware of changes and current standards.
  • Performs other related duties

Required Qualifications*

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 2-5 years of lead, supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience with clinical electronic health records (EHRs) in either a technical support or clinical user role.
  • Possess strong leadership, team building and engagement, communication, problem solving, organization, change management, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to gain the trust of key organization leaders, faculty, team members, and direct/indirect reports.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of people and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization 
  • Ability to manage and lead multiple projects as well as maintain daily operations. 

Desired Qualifications*

  • Experience and certification in Epic clinical applications, particularly Cadence or EpicCare Ambulatory. 
  • Strong project management and business analysis experience. 
  • Understanding of Ambulatory scheduling practices 

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
