The Facilities Operations Support Tech I will support teaching, learning, research, and extension in the Wilson College of Textiles by providing safe, clean, and inspiring environments for students, faculty, and staff. This customer service-oriented position will require time management skills to properly manage several projects simultaneously. This position will involve receiving and processing facilities service requests, submitting work orders, communicating with construction trades, tracking work progress and costs, developing and implementing sustainability
initiatives, communicating with the Facilities team and clients,
updating team workflows, and documenting them as standard operating procedures, and supporting daily mail shipping and receiving logistics. Additional responsibilities involve asset management, space audits, and event support.

Minimum Experience/Education
High school diploma or equivalent

- Highly reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Accurate and attentive to detail in their work
- Working knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Excel, and able to learn new systems and technology with ease.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to keep track of and prioritize a wide variety of tasks, projects, deadlines and responsibilities.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, with or without reasonable accommodations; able to utilize dolly and pallet jack to move heavy furniture and equipment
- Able to read and understand floor plans, construction proposals and communicate effectively with contractors
Prior customer service or facilities management experience as well as proficiency with Slack., preferred
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
- Experience in an academic setting working with faculty personnel preferred
- Experience managing people or projects
- Experience with NC State Applications: FMInteract, AiM, Surplus, CAMS, PC
- Experience working with task management software such as ZenDesk, Trello or ServiceNow
- Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions
- Proficiency with the Slack communication platform
