FIRE is now looking for someone who has a love and commitment to creating places of lasting value for the church community locally, nationally, and around the globe!

The Church Properties Initiative (CPI), a project of the Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate at the University of Notre Dame, conducts research, educates students, and convenes and equips leaders to activate land and buildings in service to the Church and the world. CPI is seeking a Program Manager to support external engagement and manage CPI’s portfolio of research and practice projects.

The Program Manager engages CPI’s core stakeholders as well as funders, benefactors, policymakers, and entrepreneurs by identifying key forums and networks; developing and executing a strategy for communicating CPI’s findings and publications across various media; managing student workers to help execute CPI’s operations; coordinating CPI’s quarterly diocesan real estate networking call; and collaborating to produce CPI’s continuing education offerings, conferences, and other events. The Program Manager also manages CPI’s portfolio of research and practice projects by identifying funding sources and supporting the preparation of grant applications, developing project timelines, coordinating project teams, administering CPI’s internal seed grant program, managing undergraduate research assistants, distributing calls for papers, and reviewing submissions for conference presentations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (5 years) or advanced certification beyond Bachelor’s
  • 6 to 12 months of experience
  • Degree in Real Estate, Urban Planning, Architecture, Economic Development, Non-profit administraiton or related
  • Subject-matter expertise in real estate, urban planning, economic development, church/non-profit administration, and/or urban design; excellent written and oral communication in English; project management; data analysis; ability to communicate professionally with a wide variety of stakeholders and technical experts

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graphic design and digital communications
  • Familiarity with the structure, teaching, and practices of the Catholic Church
  • Experience engaging with faith-based organizations
