Manager, Admissions Advisor
Job Description
Works closely with college leadership to effectively develop and implement the College’s strategic enrollment management plan and provides direct leadership and supervision to the Admissions Advisors.
Oversees all aspects of college enrollment and is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the execution of the comprehensive enrollment plan with appropriate goals that include strategies to recruit and enroll students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Lead the Department in establishing and achieving annual goals and objectives.
Responsible for developing, reviewing, modifying, and implementing recruitment procedures and guidelines.
Responsible for supervising and training Admissions Advisors to include performance evaluations.
Responsible for the implementation of the Customer Service Model of Excellence.
Provide department leadership and consistent services by implementation of Institutional procedures, forms, and reports.
Identify best practices and apply consistently.
Develop annual enrollment forecasts, predictive models and budgets in collaboration with Dean of Students.
Build, lead and motivate the appropriate teams to ensure enrollment goals are met.
Manage departmental budget and serve as the signature authority.
Provide oversight and approval of purchase of office supplies and advising materials.
Provide training opportunities and keep department abreast of new developments and innovation within the recruitment and outreach profession.
Represent the department at System-wide meetings.
Provide comprehensive statistical and data-informed analyses necessary to make sound policy decisions for the successful onboarding of a caseload of prospective students.
Provide a seamless High School to College transition.
Track student progress and provide reports to college leadership.
Assist with college recruitment activities to include arranging on-site College visits for parents and students, pre-enrollment workshops, and new student orientation.
Coordinate enrollment activities, such as College & Career Fairs, Open Houses, Admissions & Registration Fairs and other enrollment events.
Evaluate and improve student enrollment experience practices, including timely, effective and position engagement with students and families throughout the community.
Interpret admissions assessment scores from High Schools to see if further testing is needed.
Assist COE with the promotion of special programs and opportunities such as learning communities, bridge courses, honors programs, service learning, etc. Work closely and establish positive relationships with High School College and career advisors, counselors, and departments; including charter, private schools, community organizations and partners.
During peak enrollment periods, directly work with students on campus; assisting admissions and advising.
Provide information and referrals to students needing services such as: tutoring, testing, career counseling, financial aid, disability services, etc. Provide online advisement services via email, phone, and other applicable technology to students to include out-of-state and Distance Education students as needed.
Assist in retention activities of College including Early-Alert and as team members within the Success Center.
Establish and maintain interdepartmental relationships with all Student Services and instructional programs.
May work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
- 3 years work experience in an institution of higher education advising/recruitment setting required; including 2 years supervisory experience
- Higher Education and CRM product experience preferred
- HCC College Leadership Program preferred
- Valid Texas Driver License

General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner.
