Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Senior Director of Development, Children's and Women's Health, this position will focus on fundraising efforts to increase support for the Departments of Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, C.S. Mott Children's and Von Voigtlander Women's Hospitals and be focused primarily on fundraising activity for the Congenital Heart Center with secondary focus on Psychology and Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics.  The Senior Associate / Associate Director will manage and solicit a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, conducting best-in-class identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities. 

The Senior Associate / Associate Director is responsible for representing and advocating the mission and priorities of the Departments of Pediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynecology, C.S. Mott Children's Hospital, Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital, and the University at large to individuals, groups, and foundations. The Senior Associate / Associate Director will create short- and long-term strategies for donors with an interest in supporting the C.S. Mott Children's and Von Voigtlander Women's Hospitals while collaborating with development colleagues in other units to engage donors with cross-over interests

The Senior Associate / Associate Director will manage and solicit a portfolio of major and principal gift prospects, and will plan systematic, appropriate and effective solicitation strategies for these prospects while qualifying new prospects through discovery visits. The Senior Associate / Associate Director will be accountable to the performance metrics associated with a MGO, Lead, and achieve the U-M development community standards set for that position as outlined below. The Office of Development supports an overall culture of flexibility with gift officers expected to be outside of their home offices meeting with donors, faculty or colleagues a minimum of three days each week.

The onsite location for this position is located at 777 E. Eisenhower Parkway, Ann Arbor and provides free, on-site parking for staff.

This position is a flexible, hybrid position. The Michigan Medicine Office of Development supports an overall culture of flexibility with gift officers expected to be outside of their home offices meeting with donors, faculty or colleagues a minimum of three days each week. While work arrangements are flexible, you must currently, or be willing to, reside within a daily commutable distance of the office. Flexible work agreements are reviewed annually and are subject to change dependent on business needs.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
