Summary of Position

The Assistant Director of International Admission is responsible for the successful implementation of off-campus international recruitment, admission and marketing strategies, including budget, travel, communication, research, data analysis and file review. The Assistant Director of International Admission plays a key role in providing confident, competent and credible external representation of the university in an important market in which expanded enrollment is a major institutional role. This role is considered a hybrid position that offers the flexibility of working remotely in the Southern New Hampshire/greater Boston area and Reports to the Director of International Recruitment with a dotted line to the Director of Admissions Recruitment on the Undergraduate Admissions team.

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • One (1) to three (3) years of admissions experience is preferred. One (1) to three (3) years of experience in international education preferred.. One (1) to three (3) years of experience in recruitment or customer service a plus.
  • Qualified candidates must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational and prioritizing skills as well as superior attention to detail
  • Demonstrate proficiency in working with student information systems and customer relationship management systems (Slate).
  • Must possess the ability to build relationships with stakeholders as it relates to international recruitment, including feeder schools, educational agencies and external organizations.
  • Must have valid passport, willingness to travel internationally
  • Must have valid Driver’s License and operational vehicle
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently and productively under deadline pressure. Creative ability to continually seek to understand and utilize new technologies and trends to best serve students.
  • Proven managerial skills including people, mentoring, project. Excellent understanding of team dynamics.
  • Ability to solve complex problems, develop and implement strategies and achieve goals with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate strong intercultural awareness
  • Ability to travel and work outside of traditional working hours, including nights and weekends, if needed.
  • Ability to work well both independently with little to no supervision as well as part of a team.
  • Ability to organize and maintain records, reports, and projects.

  • Ability to adapt to dynamic environments and maintain composure in the face of uncertainties associated with international travel.

Duty/Responsibility

International Recruitment Travel
  • Travels outside the US, often for several weeks at a time in order to attend globalization conferences, international student recruitments fairs and secondary school visits acting as UNH’s face-to-face spokesperson with key audiences in strategically selected international markets, including by not limited to prospective students, their families, embassy and consulate staff, international school counselors and international recruitment agencies, governments and businesses.
  • Exhibits a consistently high level of maturity, professionalism, and credibility to act as UNH’s face-to-face spokesperson with all audiences.
  • Maintains awareness of applicable cultural/regional international expectations, travel advisories and sensitives in targeted markets. Is sensitive to cultural nuances and prioritizes representing UNH professionally.
  • Maintains a clear understanding of the needs and behaviors of UNH’s international target audiences and influencers at different stages throughout the enrollment funnel to minimize friction in the enrollment process
  • Manage prescribed recruitment territories and attend recruitment fairs and events; actively manage and elevate opportunities for student engagement throughout enrollment life cycle
  • Conduct virtual sessions to engage with international prospective students when not traveling abroad.

Project Manages Workflow and Business Practices
  • Assumes project management responsibilities for international travel initiatives, including resources, time, budget, ensuring proper control of expenditures for the initiatives for which they are responsible
  • Develops, writes and follows travel plans and summaries, while maintaining travel and recruitment efforts with Slate CRM.
  • Maintains a clear understanding of the needs and behaviors of UNH’s international target audiences and influencers at different stages throughout the enrollment funnel to minimize friction in the enrollment process
  • Presents and proposed business process enhancements

Duty/Responsibility

Market Research
  • Supports market research analysis and researches and recommends enhanced international marketing strategies and policies
  • Applies current and historical enrollment data in combination with demographics to determine trends, forecast future opportunities and inform strategy development.
  • Responsible for ensuring the ongoing evaluation of the quality of international high school located within recruitment markets to inform travel and marketing efforts

International Partnership Maintenance
  • Manages international agency database in Slate CRM
  • Inform agent newsletter content and communication plan
  • Conduct virtual and in-person annual training to international partners on UNH processes and highlights
  • Inform international partner evaluations through Slate CRM data

Communications and Marketing
  • Support all content development for international recruitment communication plans
  • Manage SMS and WhatsApp yield efforts for incoming international students
  • Coordinating and scheduling the alignments of international marketing initiatives as well as communication and follow-up strategies to balance the needs of other areas and to ensure effective marketing
