Inventory Control Clerk
Job Description
An Inventory Control Clerk tracks, reviews, and monitors all incoming material and supplies used in production or resale products to ensure compliance to the appropriate standards. Responsible for assuring that all materials leaving the factory have passed quality testing and records are accurate and complete before releasing products to the appropriate department(s)
Schedule: 1:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Location: 5855 Oberlin Dr. San Diego, CA 92121
The day-to-day:
- Receives, inspects and controls materials at various stages of the production process.
- Records inventory movement and transactions in the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, QAD.
- Reviews and verifies all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Performs data entry to process inventory transfers and generate paperwork.
- Maintains all records and documentation adhering to established procedures.
- Receives and controls customer product returns, scrap, and non-conforming products.
- Controls laboratory samples leaving and returning to the manufacturing process.
- Releases material to the internal departments.
- Inspects incoming material to ensure it meets appropriate standards and is from an approved vendor.
- Inspects all materials and products leaving the factory to ensure predetermined standards have been met.
- Controls non-conforming products and scrap material until disposition is completed.
- Inspects the integrity and weight of every item that is being controlled.
- Completes all necessary paper work and maintains the appropriate records.
What does it take to be successful:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One plus years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to learn technical concepts by reading work instructions and standard operating procedures, and completing on-the-job training.
- Proven experience following instructions and accepting additional responsibilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Adherence to tight deadlines and production goals.
- Organizational skills and prioritizing multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail and focus on quality.
- Familiarity working with computers and various computer programs.
- Passionate about industry and desire to contribute where needed.
- Ability to learn technical concepts by reading work instructions and standard operating procedures, and completing on-the-job training.
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR/98-282, 93/42/EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG(MD)R Sch3 preferred.
